A Philosophy of Dignity

At Khelaghar, we emphasize four principles:

• a belief in human dignity and equality
• a close connection to nature
• self-expression through the arts and
• the need for a community

Khelaghar strives to instill a sense of dignity in the children who come to live here, and to give them the necessary skills to live a life of dignity, self-sufficiency and creativity. Our aim is to create an atmosphere where they can come to know all the joys of living at home and at the same time will have no difficulty in finding their niche in the mainstream of life when they grow up.
