Our Community

Khelaghar's children come from situations of severe disadvatage and trauma. Some have lost one parent and the other is unable to look after the child; or children who have a guardian other than parents and the guardian does not have the financial means; and children from seriously marginalized and impoverished social classes where homes are afflicted by alcoholism, abuse or violence. Almost all have had a traumatic experiences of some kind and do not have the means to seek appropriate alternatives.  

The children are looked after by several full-time staff members who live in Khelaghar. They are also teachers in our school. In addition, there are many who volunteer their time for Khelaghar. Khelaghar's administrative services are rendered entirely by volunteers. Administrative details
